SEVIERVILLE'S BLOOMIN' BARBEQUE & BLUEGRASS Make a BBQ Fantasy Weekend in Sevierville (May 16 – 17) Love to BBQ? Then you’ll love Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass. Now in its fourth year of food, music and fun, Sevierville’s Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass offers unprecedented opportunities to learn from the best in the world of BBQ. Legendary Baron of Barbecue, Paul Kirk, will offer free cooking demonstrations throughout the event and the Kansas City Barbecue Society Great American BBQ Tour will also be on site offering demonstrations. Not only can guests at Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass learn from the best, they can also taste the best, as four hand selected championship cook teams compete and vend food at the event (including the current #1 ranked team in the nation, Cool Smoke). Bluegrass Rings True in Sevierville (May 16-17) Another important part of Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass is the music. Enjoy free concerts from the biggest names in Bluegrass presented by the City of Sevierville. This year’s performers include Marty Stuart, Larry Cordle, Bradley Walker, Dave Peterson & 1946, Cadillac Sky and more. In addition, kids (and kids at heart) can learn to play bluegrass instruments from experienced instructors in the Bluegrass Music Tent. For a little more music, stay for The Mountain Soul Vocal Competition, honoring Sevierville’s hometown girl, Dolly Parton. Competitors from around the country will sing one of the 3,000 songs written by Dolly in the style of his or her own choosing (rock, jazz, country, etc.) for a competition unlike any other. The Mountain Soul Vocal Competition finals takes place on Saturday May 17. Those interested in entering may download an entry form at www.BloominBBQ.com. Entries must be postmarked April 11, 2008.
