New Shows- Sevierville’s newest show is Cirque de Chine at Smoky Mountain Palace Theater. This amazing circus-style show includes acclaimed performers, including acrobats, plus the awe-inspiring Thunder Drums. This fun, fast paced show for the entire family offers matinee and evening performances and begins this spring. www.smokymountainpalace.com New Rides- Dollywood’s all new ride, River Battle, is a themed water raft ride equipped with powerful soaker guns. Nine rafts, each with room for eight passengers, follow a 500-foot channel. As the rafts navigate the waters, the battle begins as passengers, each armed with a soaker gun, take aim at each other and more than 100 targets along the way, including large-scale “talking animals”—beavers, skunks, otters, bears and more. www.dollywood.com New Hotels- Sevierville is getting ready for your stay with new hotel rooms and added amenities. In fact, by the end of 2008, a full 25 percent of Sevierville’s overnight accommodation inventory will be brand new. The all-new Wilderness Resorts Hotel opens July 1 with 234 luxurious rooms and an outdoor waterpark www.wildernessatthesmokies.com. Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott will open its 91 rooms just off I-40 Exit 407 this spring, and a new Hampton Inn & Suites and a Comfort Inn & Suites will also open. All three properties are located near Bass Pro Outdoor World and the Tennessee Smokies Baseball Stadium (an AA affiliate of the Chicago Cubs), making them great places to stay while enjoying a “man-cation” with good buddies. (What is a Man-cation? Similar to a “Girlfriend’s Getaway,” a “Man-cation” allows men to travel with their buddies, hang out together and do what they enjoy. Suggested activities include watching spectator sports, golfing, fishing, hiking, whitewater rafting and more.) Click here for a complete list of Sevierville lodging. |
